OpenBSD

OpenBSD is a specific type of UNIX-based operating system that is an open-source alternative to proprietary licensed products. With a Berkeley Software Distribution license, OpenBSD allows for the free use of a multi-platform and portable operating system.

Uses of OpenBSD are fairly obscure in the tech world, mainly because the use of the licensed operating systems is so prevalent. For example, most consumer systems and even the vast majority of business systems utilize a Windows operating system or some licensed version of a Linux or UNIX system.
