Gadget Fatigue

The condition is usually precipitated by the release of several gadgets that share the same features and capabilities or are only marginally different from pre-existing product versions.

When numerous and similar products are released, gadget fatigue is a common result, effectively creating mental fatigue for end users that select or upgrade products, ranging from small handheld devices/gadgets to computers, laptops, tablet PCs and smartphones.
Gadget fatigue inevitably occurs due to a vendor's haste to grab market share by launching newer product versions. Similarly, other vendors also may launch newer version products, flooding the market well ahead of real customer demand.
