Although a hybrid cloud may combine several different service architectures, it is primarily considered the provision of offsite cloud resources to enhance, upgrade or extend the existing and onsite IT resources. For example, an organization might add public cloud storage to store backup data and files.
However, according to some industry pundits, the cohesion of different cloud solutions to form a single solution is also considered as hybrid cloud model. This might include something like renting a virtual server from one public provider and integrating it with public cloud storage from another.
